Welcome to Year 3!
We have an exciting term ahead of us. We are all really looking forward to the interesting and engaging work that we will be producing together.
Throughout the school our main topic is “Leaving a Legacy” and the focus for Year three will be on The Stone age to the Bronze age. We are really looking forward to learning about how people lived during these times and the changes that took place over time. We are hoping to include a trip to Flag Fen to enrich our learning further.
Much of our English work will be linked to our theme but will include writing stories, diaries and reports.
In Science we will be learning about rocks and soils and their properties.
There will be a spelling test on Friday and the children will be given their new spellings on the Monday before. Please make sure your child practises their spellings every day.
Children will be bringing reading books home and it is still really important that the children are reading every day. Children's reading diaries will be checked on a Friday. The children all have a log on to Times Table Rockstars and they should be completing 30 mins on the garage or studio each week
Our PE day is Wednesday. On these days, we are asking the children to come into school in their full PE kit, including trainers. As the days begin to get colder, please can the children make sure they have suitable outdoor clothing (trainers, jacket, jogging bottoms / trousers).
Please can all children make sure they have a water bottle with them each day; they are welcome to fill their bottle up throughout the day at school.
The Year Three team will be working hard to ensure the children have a happy, productive and successful term. If you have any questions, please email these to email@example.com and these will be forwarded to us and we will get back to you.
Thank you for your continued support.
