Physical Education

Our PE curriculum aims to inspire all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. We aim for pupils to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. We will offer opportunities to develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities, to be physically active for a sustained period of time, to build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.

Every week the children will receive two PE lessons, one of which will be taught by a qualified sports coach. As well as their weekly PE sessions, the children will be working alongside St Thomas More Catholic Primary, taking part in a range of competitive sports and activities.

Our main focus is to improve the overall health and fitness of all the children. Therefore, all lessons will follow ‘The Rising Stars Champions’ scheme of work, which has an emphasis on improving fitness levels.

We are pleased to have achieved the Youth Sport Trust - Bronze Quality Mark for 2021-22 (certificate below)
