Holy Family

Holy Family  Summer Term

We are so excited to welcome you back and cannot wait to get stuck into to all the exciting work we have planned! We are glad that the weather is finally improving and we can get outside more for our learning and playing!

English

In English we will continue to work on sentence formation and structure, as well as our spelling and handwriting. We will be reading a fabulous story book about the history of the World Cup as well as following the adventures of Flat Stanley

Maths

In Maths, we will be revisiting shape as well before moving onto fractions and measurement.

Geography/Design and Technology

We will be learning about the Amazon Rainforest as well as  South America and Brazil. This will also be our inspiration for our Art work.  In Design and Technology we will be investigating pneumatics and making our own moving monster powered by air!

Science

In Science our topics are plants as well as living things and their habitats. We will hopefully grow our own plants and build habitats so we can observe the creatures that live there. We will carry out investigations into how plants carry water and what conditions they need to grow well.

RE

Our RE topic is Living as Followers of Jesus. During the Summer Term, children will explore how we can live as followers of Jesus in our everyday lives. Through simple, structured, and meaningful activities, pupils will learn about love, service, forgiveness, and the importance of community.

We aim to make all learning accessible, sensory-friendly, and supportive of communication needs, ensuring every child can engage at their own level.

PE

Our PE session with Mr Rudd is on Wednesday afternoon. Children should wear PE kits for this day.  Other year groups will have PE on other afternoons, and we will let you know if your child will be attending these sessions so you can be prepared.

Other classroom information

Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school. We like to spend as much time outside as we can, learning in the outside environment, even when the weather is not perfect. Please ensure that your child has wellies and a coat in wet weather. Children may need sun hats and suncream as the weather gets warmer.

We are looking forward to another successful Holy Family summer with lots of fun and learning!
