On Wednesday 28th March we had an exciting visitor in school: the 'rocket man'! The children began the afternoon fully captivated by a wonderful presentation on the importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) learning within school and enjoyed learning all about how rockets work. After an afternoon of space-themed activities, the whole school - including parents- gathered on the playground to watch the launch of several rockets, one of which managed to reach around 500ft! Thank you to all parents who were able to come in and watch the launch - it is moments like this that make working in a primary school fantastic and I'm sure the children will never forget the day that a rocket was launched from their playground!
